Metrical ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website metrical.digital and provides web performance auditing services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our service.

We collect the following categories of data when you use Metrical:

  • Account information: Your email address and name, collected when you sign up via Clerk authentication.
  • Scan data: The URLs you submit for scanning and the results generated from those scans.
  • Payment information: Billing details processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details directly. Stripe handles all payment data.
  • Usage data: Information about how you use the service, including pages visited and features used, collected via Google Analytics.
  • Error and performance data: Technical error reports collected via Sentry to help us diagnose and fix bugs.

3. How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Provide and improve the Metrical service
  • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • Send transactional emails (e.g. receipts, password resets)
  • Monitor service health and investigate bugs
  • Understand how users interact with the product to guide development

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services, each of which processes data under their own privacy policies:

  • Clerk for authentication and user management
  • Stripe for payment processing and subscription management
  • Google Analytics for anonymous usage analytics
  • Sentry for error monitoring

5. Cookies

Metrical uses cookies for authentication (managed by Clerk) and anonymous analytics (Google Analytics). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. By using Metrical, you consent to the use of these cookies.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data and scan history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and scan history will be deleted within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance reasons.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Receive your data in a portable format
